Wedding shoe trends ~ 2011

( Last Updated: 18-10-2010 )

We asked our design head for the latest news in wedding shoe trends, so here, right from the top, is what brides can expect for the new season.

Pointy Toes

The new shape is for a short, pointy toe, a reflection of the ladylike trend that’s taking over the catwalk. A flattering shape in any heel height, this creates an elegant look that works well with knee length gowns as well as long, slim shapes. See this look with new Savannah from Rainbow Club, Perov from Rainbow Couture and Toscana from Else.

Platform

High heels make a real statement in bridal wear this season, and the new way to wear them is with a covered platform, giving extra height while maintaining supreme comfort. Perfect for evening inspired gowns, they look fabulous in ivory or dyed to match a sash or a coloured dress.  Available across the collections, look for a peep toe version at Rainbow Club, the Coral, a pleated trim at Rainbow Couture, the Allora and an open waited court at Else, the Chianti.

Glitter and Gleam

Our design team work hard to make sure our collections offer the latest looks, and the trend for shoes this season is for sparkling embellishments, whether as a scattering of tiny crystal beads as on Zara for Rainbow Club and Maggie in Miss Rainbow, or the chunkier knock-out crystal on Savannah at Rainbow Club, Perov at Rainbow Couture or the popular Wild eve at Hassall.

Polka Dots, bows and trims

What could be cuter? Polka dots abound on new Flower Power by Hassall and  Sweetness at Rainbow Club veils, making a real 50’s look. Bows are cute and trimmed as on Alice at Rainbow Club, or give a cheeky wink to the side of the shoe as on Katherine at Rainbow Club, or are big and blousy – see the delicious taffeta bow on Innocence at Hassall

Floral Romance

Weddings are the ideal occasions for flowers, so indulge in a pair of floral trimmed shoes – a look that works equally as well with a simple or intricate gown. Hassall does this look perfectly, with the show stopping Flower Power, a frivolous and flirty peep toe, Flora, a delicate tulle covered peep toe finished with a handmade wired flower. Go head to toe with this look with the elegant Chinita, a rose trimmed face veil, or Peony, a feminine filigree head dress adorned with diamante flowers.

Pure Ivory

Here at Rainbow, we always want to bring you something new, so we’re delighted to present the exciting Pure Ivory collection, an edited range of three intricate styles that are available in ivory only. Select from the enchanting Ruby, a round toe pump with a lower heel, offset by a frivolous ruched bow finished with a gleaming Swarovski crystal trim, Topaz, a chic point toe t bar adorned with stunning satin ruffles, or the sky high Coral, a brilliant peep tow with oversized bow detail and sparkly Swarovski crystal centre.
